Terms of Service

Boatfront is an online classified advertising marketplace operated by Boatfront Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We provide a platform that connects sellers of yachts and boats with prospective buyers.

By accessing or using Boatfront ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

When creating an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@boatfront.com if you suspect any unauthorised use.

Sellers may list boats and yachts for sale on Boatfront subject to the following requirements:

• You must own the vessel being listed or have express authority from the owner to sell it.
• All information in a listing — including price, condition, specifications, and images — must be accurate and not misleading.
• Listings must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Listings must not contain offensive, fraudulent, or unlawful content.
• You must not list items that are subject to an active insurance claim or disputed ownership.

Boatfront reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these rules, at our sole discretion, without prior notice.

Creating a basic listing is free. We offer paid "Featured" listing upgrades which provide increased visibility. Pricing is set out on our Pricing page and may be updated from time to time.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service. Boatfront does not store your full card details.

All fees are stated inclusive of VAT where applicable. Once a listing goes live following payment, we are unable to offer refunds unless required by applicable law.

Boatfront is a marketplace platform only. We are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and seller, and we do not act as agent, broker, or guarantor for any sale.

We strongly recommend that buyers and sellers conduct their own due diligence — including independent surveys, title checks, and legal advice — before entering into any agreement to buy or sell a vessel. Boatfront accepts no liability for the accuracy of listings, the condition of vessels, or the outcome of any transaction.

All content on Boatfront that is not user-generated — including the Boatfront name, logo, design, and software — is owned by Boatfront Ltd and protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws.

By submitting content (listings, images, text) to Boatfront, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. You retain ownership of your content.

You must not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
• Use the Service to transmit spam or unsolicited commercial communications.
• Engage in any conduct that disrupts or interferes with the operation of the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Boatfront's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Boatfront in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer protection legislation are not affected by these Terms.

If you are a consumer purchasing a Featured listing or other paid service, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

However, by proceeding to purchase a paid listing and requesting that we make the listing live immediately, you acknowledge that you are waiving your right to cancel under these regulations once the service has been fully performed.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email or via a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer based in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or the EU, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
